“The Glowing Light Project: Octavia” is an artwork series that integrates new media technologies with landscapes. The series, using laser light as its main medium, presents a strong visual experience that weaves into the different faces of landscape and history. The crowd through the path in the city is the inspiration for this site-specific creation project. The light, penetrating the spaces between intersection and the sky, symbolizes the possible futures of the city. Sometimes, these beams of light converge, presenting the moment of warm union.

Fluorescent Breath
Participating artists: OuDelight Inc
The artwork uses light to create a neon-colored ribbon across Dongda Road’s viaduct, mirroring the rhythm of Hsinchu’s wind. Sometimes, the ribbon waves softly; other times, it dances with powerful passion. With the aid of technology, the artwork transforms the dull and concrete viaduct into a lighter visual presence, creating a festival atmosphere for Dongda Road, and invites its viewers to embrace Hsinchu City, where technology and humanity co-exist.

Rolling Forest
Participating artists : TSENG Ling-Li
Using lighting design with fairy tale and toy elements that resemble the nearby Hsinchu’s Central Park and Longen Canal, has created a fantasy forest. Light peeks out from between the curved, translucent panels. Trees crowded the area in geometric patterns. Despite the essence of the material as digitally constructed metal plates, the art, dancing with the soft breeze, manifests nature’s beauty and its magical, sacred geometry. Traveling the fantasy forest, the viewers will indeed have a unique experience.

Futuristic Topologies
Participating artists : Winnowork
Fabricate an illusory timeline: A landscape that captures the moment.Hsinchu was once a forest, a tribe of wood and leaf. The artwork uses light to recreate the forest in Hsinchu’s memory, inviting its viewers to slow down, to see, and find their belongings at this place with a different context, landscapes, and background. In the daytime, the light migrates with sunshine and time; in nights, the light forest then presents the natural movements of winds, rains, dawns, and dusks. The outlines and shadows of the mountain and ocean transform themselves into a fictional island of Time.
